FREE CLASS – Winter Paddling Workshop – Friday November 13th

If you missed Winter Paddling Clinic then you have one more chance to learn all you need to know to extend your paddling season

In the Southeast we are blessed with weather that allows paddlers to enjoy rivers and streams year round. After the TVA, and other power companies, shut down dams in the Fall, Mother Nature provides us with hundreds of paddling options. If you haven't paddled in the Winter and early Spring you are missing out. There are no crowds, no tubes, no duckies, no loud aluminum canoes, and NO RAFTS, just beautiful scenery. Whether you prefer slow moving streams or raging whitewater the FREE Winter Paddling Workshop has something for you. Recreational paddlers are encouraged to attend.

The FREE Winter Paddling Workshop consists entirely of off-water presentations and demonstrations. No need to bring any gear. Some of the topics that will be covered at the workshop:
  • What you should wear to be safe and comfortable
  • How to recognize, prevent, and treat hypothermia
  • Fool proof ways to start a fire
  • How to build a shelter in an emergency
  • What extra gear you should have for emergency situations
  • How to plan cold weather trips
  • How to lead cold weather trips

FREE Winter Paddling Workshop will be held on Friday November 13th from 7-9:30 p.m. at Casa Fiesta. The address is 2615 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN.‎ This event is being co-promoted with the Paddle Adventures + meetup group. This is a great chance to meet other area paddlers - come early and stay late. This is a free class, and space is limited so pre-registration is required.
